Favourites of 2013

2013 is well and truly over and with that I've made some new make-up discoveries and also rekindled my love for old brands that I used to use. Looking back over 2013 and also some of my monthly favourite posts, I have put together my overall favourites of last year.

First I'll start off with Yankee candles, which has been one of my favourites of 2013. Towards the end of the year I rediscovered Yankee candles and just fell in love. I'm now pretty obsessed and have enough to keep me going for awhile! My favourite has to be Fireside Treats, it smell LUSH! At the moment I have a cold so can't enjoy this candle but will be burning it as soon as I get better!

Next is my MUA undress me too palette. I never thought much of it when it first came out and was hyped up. However I caved in during the year and have loved it ever since. It has really helped me to experiment with different shades and create different looks. I'm very much into my neutral shades so this palette is perfect and CHEAP! I'm actually in need of a new one as I'm hitting the pan on my favourite shades so may actually try out a different MUA palette.

Rimmel wake me up foundation and concealer had played a big part in my make-up rountine last year. I love the fact that the foundation is light on the skin and doesn't feel all greasy and heavy. Plus it's just the right coverage for me. Not to mention the concealer helps to brighten up my under eyes which is just what I need with my dark circles. I've repurchased both of them again this year and will continue to use them until I find another foundation and concealer that top them.

Revlon lip butters were so popular last year and I know why. They had some amazing shades and not to mention they were very moisturising and didn't dry my lips out. I have about 5 all together now and my favourite of them all is "Berry Smoothie". I love the shade, it's a pretty much everyday colour you can wear which is what I love. I don't think I've ever used a lipstick so much and may actually use it until it runs out which is a first!

Now before I started using L'oreal micellar water I was using basic make-up wipes not knowing that they were a sin with most bloggers. After hearing about this I had to give it a try and I loved it. I loved how it makes my skin feel fresh and clean not to mention the cheap price tag! I feel much better not using make-up wipes and I've noticed a difference in my skin. I've recently purchased some other L'oreal products so look forward to using them this year.

Last but not least is one of my favourite perfumes from 2013, Juicy Couture- Viva la Juicy. I used it loads last year and only have a tiny bit left now. I wouldn't say this is an everyday perfume you can use but more for a evening or special occasion. It's a pretty strong scent compared to other perfumes I have and is very sweet. If you have read my blog you will know I'm very much into my sweet and fruity fragrances. I look forward to seeing what new perfumes come out this year as I'm always on the hunt for new fragrances.

So that is the end of my favourites for 2013, It was hard picking my favourites as there are so many great products I have tried but these stuck out to me the most. I look forward to all the new products which may come out this year and hopefully some of them will be in my favourites at the end of the year.

What are you favourites for 2013?

Septembers Favourites

I know I'm really late in posting this, but better late than never! September has been a busy month and I've been on holiday half of it, however I've gathered up some of my favourites and here they are.

John Frieda Full Repair - Shampoo and Conditioner
Last month I was kindly ask to review these products (here) I never thought that I would fall in love with them. I've noticed that my hair is a lot more healthy looking and feel great. Now I didn't take the shampoo or conditioner on holiday with me and could notice a difference, as when I got home my hair was in much need of TLC from the sun ect. So what did I turn to first to help me? These two products! Now I don't use these every time I wash my hair but I make sure I at least use it once a week to help revive my hair.

Loreal Paris Micellar Solution
Now this has been talked about by many blogger and I'm very much in love with it. Now before using this I used to use make-up wipes, I know *SCREAMS* not good. But I wouldn't turn back now. I've noticed a big change in my skin since using the micellar solution and I do feel bad now when I occasionally use a make-up wipe. It gets most of my make-up off and leaves my skin feel fresh, I've also noticed less spots as well which is a plus!

Maybelline Rocket Volume Express Mascara
I've been really struggling to find a decent mascara at the moment, as the few I have tried seem to come out on the applicator in big clumps and look horrible on my eyelashes. However after trying this and leaving it for a while I've now grown to love it! The applicator wand make it easy to remove excess mascara and it doesn't look thick and clumpy on my eyelashes. Although I'm still in the process of finding another mascara this one has been a favourite for September.

Maybelline Baby Lips - Pink Punch
After waiting and wanting to try baby lips for a while now I finally got my hand on one thanks to Boots in September. I didn't know what to expect after reading mixed reviews. But after trying it out for myself I like it. It wasn't amazing but I liked the fact it was like a lip balm with a hint of colour. Pink Punch has a nice light pink shade and is very moisturising. It doesn't last long, 1-2 hours depending if you eat and drink, but it's so easy to apply it doesn't really matter.

Non-beauty favourite

Laguna Beach, The Hills and The City Boxset

I got this for my birthday in August and I've been watching it ever since. I've watched all of Laguna Beach and now I'm on third season of The Hills. Although I used to watch this religiously on MTV when it was on years ago it nice to see it from start to end. I'm pretty addicted at the moment and Spencer is really annoying me, WHY Hedi WHY him!?

Anyway that is my favourites for September, what are yours?

August Favourites

Geez August has come and gone so fast. Which means another favourites post. Now I haven't got many products to show you in my August favourites post as most of them are pretty much the same as last months. Which would be really boring to show you again for this months. So take into account that and I'll show you this months new favourites. (I'm sorry if what I just said sounds confusing!)

So this month I have three main beauty/hair favourites and then two jewellery pieces which I'm in love with this month.

My first favourite of the month is my Tangle Teezer which I got in my Selfridges summer box a couple of months ago. I use this on my wet hair after having a shower and it really helps to get the cots out my hair compared to a normal brush. Plus it makes my hair really straight which means I don't have to use any straighteners.

Second favourite of the month is Loreal Paris Skin perfection Micellar solution. Before this I was using make-up wipes to take my make-up off and I know that it's not the best thing to use. Therefore I was looking for something to replace it, and I found this beauty. I've heard a lot about it off other bloggers and that it's the cheaper version of bioderma, so when I found it for just over £3 I decided to buy it and try it out. I have been using it for 3-4 weeks now and I love it. It makes my skin feel so much cleaner and my skin is a lot clearly with using it. Definitely not going back to using make-up wipes after using this!

My third favourite is Rimmel Stay Matte powder. Now I bought this to help hold my make-up into place due to the hot weather and also to help control shiny areas on my skin. I've noticed since using it my make-up stays on for a lot longer and although my skin does still shine it does cover it up for a couple of hours at least.

My last favourite of August are my midi rings! I know they are on trend at the moment and I have wanted some for ages. So when I saw these really cute ones in Dorothy Perkins I know I had to buy them. I got 4 for about £5 and these are my two favourites.

What are your favourites for this month?
