Favourites of 2013

2013 is well and truly over and with that I've made some new make-up discoveries and also rekindled my love for old brands that I used to use. Looking back over 2013 and also some of my monthly favourite posts, I have put together my overall favourites of last year.

First I'll start off with Yankee candles, which has been one of my favourites of 2013. Towards the end of the year I rediscovered Yankee candles and just fell in love. I'm now pretty obsessed and have enough to keep me going for awhile! My favourite has to be Fireside Treats, it smell LUSH! At the moment I have a cold so can't enjoy this candle but will be burning it as soon as I get better!

Next is my MUA undress me too palette. I never thought much of it when it first came out and was hyped up. However I caved in during the year and have loved it ever since. It has really helped me to experiment with different shades and create different looks. I'm very much into my neutral shades so this palette is perfect and CHEAP! I'm actually in need of a new one as I'm hitting the pan on my favourite shades so may actually try out a different MUA palette.

Rimmel wake me up foundation and concealer had played a big part in my make-up rountine last year. I love the fact that the foundation is light on the skin and doesn't feel all greasy and heavy. Plus it's just the right coverage for me. Not to mention the concealer helps to brighten up my under eyes which is just what I need with my dark circles. I've repurchased both of them again this year and will continue to use them until I find another foundation and concealer that top them.

Revlon lip butters were so popular last year and I know why. They had some amazing shades and not to mention they were very moisturising and didn't dry my lips out. I have about 5 all together now and my favourite of them all is "Berry Smoothie". I love the shade, it's a pretty much everyday colour you can wear which is what I love. I don't think I've ever used a lipstick so much and may actually use it until it runs out which is a first!

Now before I started using L'oreal micellar water I was using basic make-up wipes not knowing that they were a sin with most bloggers. After hearing about this I had to give it a try and I loved it. I loved how it makes my skin feel fresh and clean not to mention the cheap price tag! I feel much better not using make-up wipes and I've noticed a difference in my skin. I've recently purchased some other L'oreal products so look forward to using them this year.

Last but not least is one of my favourite perfumes from 2013, Juicy Couture- Viva la Juicy. I used it loads last year and only have a tiny bit left now. I wouldn't say this is an everyday perfume you can use but more for a evening or special occasion. It's a pretty strong scent compared to other perfumes I have and is very sweet. If you have read my blog you will know I'm very much into my sweet and fruity fragrances. I look forward to seeing what new perfumes come out this year as I'm always on the hunt for new fragrances.

So that is the end of my favourites for 2013, It was hard picking my favourites as there are so many great products I have tried but these stuck out to me the most. I look forward to all the new products which may come out this year and hopefully some of them will be in my favourites at the end of the year.

What are you favourites for 2013?

NOTD: Sparkle

I recently posted about my Poundland haul and said that I would do a NOTD with the Revlon Glitter nail polish I bought. Well here it is!

When I bought this nail polish I already had a NOTD idea in mind, using another nail polish I bought earlier in the year. I first started off with two coats of white nail polish from Sinful Colors in shade Snow me White and then added Revlon glitter nail polish in the shade Radiant.

I'm pretty impressed with the outcome and I love the way it looks. It's a great Christmassy look and as I've said before I'm really into glitter/sparkly things at the moment. It's a pretty simple NOTD but still looks amazing. I do plan on buying some more glittery nail polishes to create other sparkly/Christmassy looks.

It's cheap and easy to do as it only cost me £2 as I bought both nail polishes from Poundland. It's just such a shame I have to take it off for work, as I love it. Also the fact I've had it on three days now and no sign of chipping!

What do you think of my NOTD? What are your favourite nail polishes right now?

October Favourites

So I'm late again with my monthly favourites post, but it comes around so fast! Anyway better late than never. I have to admit I'm struggling at the moment to do monthly favourite posts as I haven't really bought any products lately, and my favourites are the same as previous months. Would be a bit boring showing you the same items each month. Anyway I managed to gather up a few items that I have been using a lot in the month of October.

I've picked four items for October starting with Rihanna - Nude perfume which smells LUSH! I have to admit the bottle is pretty basic compared to other perfumes but who cares it's all about the fragrance! It's a very girly, sweet, fruity smell and I've had a few compliments say how nice it smells. I only got this in August and I'm nearly half way through. Show how much I use it! You only really need to use a little bit as I find it quite a strong smelling perfume.

Moving on to my next item which is my Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick -Iced Amethyst. This is a perfect A/W lipstick and I have wore it a couple of times. Normally I'm not into dark shades like this but it has a shimmer to it therefore not making it too intense. I'm still finding my confidence to explore different lipstick shades and wear them out and about. But I feel I can pair this lipstick up with a A/W make-up look and it will look perfect.

I've been really into Yankee Candles if you have seen my instagram you will noticed I've posted a few pictures. I really love Fluffy towel Yankee Candle, as it a clean, fresh smell and really put me in a relaxing mood. I love to light this candle after a long day at work and just sit watching TV or on my laptop with it burning. I'm definitely putting some more Yankee Candles on my Christmas wishlist this year!

Last but not least is my MUA Fashionista Double Take Baked Eyeshadow. It's a mixture of different shades of gold and when applied to eyelid it comes out in different shades as well. I practically wear this most days as it's so simple to apply and only means I have to use one eyeshadow instead of playing around with a few to create a look. I'm looking at getting some more eyeshadows from this collection.

So that is all of my favourites for October what are yours?

Revlon ColorBurst Lip Butter Collection

Revlon ColorBurst Lip Butter are starting to become one of my favourite lipstick of the summer.

Left to Right: Strawberry Shortcake - Wild Watermelon - Berry Smoothie

Although my collection is only small, (as you can see in picture above) I'm still looking into growing my collection as there is so many different shades which I would love to get my hands on. I find them different to other lipsticks I have as they really help to moisturisers my lips, which is needed as my lip get really dry and cracked at times. When applied the lip butter it lasts around 2-3 hours depending on whether I'm eating or drinking. Which can be quite annoying but they are easy to re-apply so it's not too much trouble.

Left to Right: Strawberry Shortcake - Wild Watermelon - Berry Smoothie

Moving onto the different shades I have in my collection. The first shade I bought was Strawberry Shortcake which as you can see in the swatches it's a nice light pink. After I bought my first lip butter I didn't look back and looked into buying my second one which was Wild Watermelon. I love this colour SO much! I found this was a great way into getting used to wearing bright colours for the first time, but not being too bold and in your face. My third lip butter I recently won from Ru at eatdrinkcleanseandtone.com (feel free to check her blog out) which is called Berry smoothie. It's not as bright as the other two but it's a colour I can use all year around and I think it goes really well with my skin tone.

Revlon ColorBurst Lip Butter have really helped me to get into wearing lipstick on a regular basis and explore different colours. I know that these three shades will definitely get a lot of use this summer and also all year around.

What shades are your favourite in the Revlon ColorBurst  collection?
